For my own part, I conceived it. At around 11am-ish on 9/11, I was ranting and raving “Nuke the fuck out of them! Get a big fat nuclear erasor and change all the fucking maps in the world! Afghanistan no longer exists!”
Of course, that was simply me expressing emotions at a very emotional time. I never seriously considered it or suggested it as viable foreign policy. Nor did anyone I know.
Oh, and Leaffan is a putz. In My Humble Opinion, anyone that voted for Bush the first time is a deluded moron. Anyone that voted for him a second time is an accessory to murder. Anyone that still supports him is as evil as Hitl – uh, Mussolini, and dumber than dirt. IMHO.

Gee, Sam, I disagree with much of **Leaffan’s ** post, but why should he now be subject to insults and epithets because he stated his opinions and invited a similar response. He said nothing in his Op that was inflammatory, just unpopular. Seems like a very poor or at least unfair decision to move it on him.
Leaffan, what is the basis for your belief that Iraq was a major supporter of terrorism. Iran & Syria I would agree with, but not Iraq.

This was probably the nadir of the lot. Speaking as someone who was actually there, I can do without his anger on my behalf. Neither I nor anyone else I know who breathed in the stink of jet fuel, plastic, steel, and bodies talked about nuclear retaliation.
If you are suggesting that the only things that are “facts” are proven deductively, then you are right, polls are not facts. You would be right, yet you would be even stupider than I had supposed. It is a good thing modern medicine does not submit to your definition of fact.
If you can reject the null hypothesis at the 95% level of confidence, is it a fact? If not, what is it?
