9/11 Investigation vs. Evil Gay Marriage: George W. Bush's fucked-up priorities

If you can offer a cite in which children are mentioned in any standard Protestant marriage vow, please do so.

Oh well, if you attended a single wedding in which children were mentioned, then that changes everything.

Your cite lists three reasons to get married.

All of these are things that gay couples can, and do, do. Further, a religious objection to same-sex marriage has no place in a discussion of amending the Constitution to bar civil same-sex marriage.

With apologies to the OP for continuing the semi-hijack, but if you don’t want your thread to delve into SSM then maybe you shouldn’t include the phrase “Evil Gay Marriage” in your title.

Sadly, I think you’re right. And as I read those first two sentences, I have this hilarious mental picture of you sitting in front of your computer in dumbfounded disgust as control of this thread slips from your grasp.

LOL, nameless, that is pretty much what I looked like. Oh well.

Apparently not. But I kinda figured that people here at the Dope would be able to read beyond a thread title and pay attention to the content of the actual post!

Sigh. If a mod reads this, could you please change the thread title to “George Bush’s fucked-up priorities vs. 9-11” or something like that? Thanks.

I for one am totally amazed at how Bush can dictate the scope and the timing of the 9-11 investigation and nobody seems to be calling him on this. One hour of taking questions and one hour only is absolutely pathetic. This is a man who took a 30 day vacation at his dude ranch in Bumfuck, TX after being warned of possible terrorist attacks in August 2001, yet now he is too damned busy to spare more than an hour with the commission investigating those terrorist attacks. Bill Clinton and Al Gore have volunteered to answer any and all questions without any of these ridiculous limitations. I hope that Bush gets shamed and embarassed into doing the right thing, but that is extremely difficult for a man that has no shame…

For those who can’t read beyond the thread title and pay attention to the content of the OP, may I suggest taking the SSM discussion to this thread?

Back on topic: I’m dumbfounded, flabbergasted, outraged, incredulous, furious, disgusted, appalled, revolted, sickened, insulted, dismayed by the callous, foolish, cynical, wrongheaded, crypto-fascistic, long-term disastrous, manipulative, faux-patriotic, exploitative, liberty-threatening, divisive acts and statements of the current misadministration.

I guess I could insert that into pretty much any thread about Shrubco, eh?

Uh, I believe you’ve miscounted - my tally comes to 3934746482378367. Maybe you should do a recount?
