…by Warren Zevon, BTW. From an album also called “The Envoy”, of which I own one of the 100 or so copies sold.

I must chime in with a few suggestions. I must also say, ahead of time, that you probably won’t find all of these appropriate. Just sharing the titles on the mix CD I’m creating.

“I Will Survive” — Gloria Gaynor
“We Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” — Cypress Hill
“Trouble” — Cat Stevens (which I realize is out of court on account of his being Muslim. But it did bring comfort to me, 51 weeks ago.)
“We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions” — Queen
“I’ll Be There” — Jackson 5
“Tubthumbing” — Chumbawumba (Now, don’t laugh. “I get knocked down/But I get up again/You’re never gonna keep me down…”)
“Sail Away” — Randy Newman
“Blowin’ In the Wind” — PPM or Dylan
“Tears in Heaven” — Eric Clapton

But your list is wonderful as is.

It’s 90s, but “Seasons of Love” from the musical RENT is incredibly appropriate:

> [@](#):
>
> 525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear
> 525,600 minutes, how do you measure
> Measure a year?
>
> In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee?
> In inches, in miles, in laugher, in strife?
> In 525,600 minutes
> How do you measure, measure a life?
>
> How about love?
> How about love?
> How about love?
> Measure in love
> Seasons of love…

I’ll be playing that before I leave for work the morning of.

And crying my eyes out. ☹

Actually, it’s “How do you measure a year in the life.”

My bad.

No War by the Dicks.

That’s pure 80’s american hardcore. They played this to a big ol honkin crowd outside the democratic national convention in 1984. Course, you might get into trouble playing it on the air because of choice swear words…

Many thanks to everyone who helped! I had enough recommendations for two shows, but I’m alrerady planning “happy tunes” for next week (think Weird Al"). If I didn’t use a song you suggested, it either because WRUW didn’t have it or the lyrics weren’t as on-topic as I would have liked. I’m glad to say most of them are within my usual format (80s music) and you can here the archive via the WRUW webpage at [http://www.wruw.org](http://www.wruw.org) for one week starting at about 9:00 am Cleveland time on 9/11. And the winners are…
