First off, this happened in Florida so why am I not surprised. Second, was the guy actually on his lawn and did not leave after repeatedly being asked to do so? You have to send a strong message here, “get off of our lawns!” is taken seriously by old folks and there will be blood! ---

So he probably stepped over the property line onto his lawn at some point in the process; I mean it’s kind of hard not to when you’re turning the mower around to make your next pass.
