It’s a stretch - but is it possible the absurdity in this story is a metaphor for ‘police profiling’? Apparently, TX cops are treating everyone equally now. ---

I don’t work for that particular department anymore. While the one I’m on now is slightly more flexible (though not by written policy, as I’ve posted before) one would still be required to explain why they didn’t cuff an arrested subject. The place where we would get boned is in the booking room. I come walking in there with an uncuffed subject and the booking officer is going to jaw my head off over it. Ain’t worth it. Especially on a part-time gig. ---
