For my Political Science class, I was given a copy of a program called “Microcase Student ExplorIt,” which is a software program that allows you to compare hundreds of variables against hundreds of others on maps of colonial times, states, counties, and many more. You can compare cocaine users per 1000 hispanics in Cass County, MO, if you wish, or high crime rates in areas with low Welfare rates and high property values, and so forth, or the % of hispanics in a high income area who voted for McGovern. It is really fucking awesome. My county: Cass, MO Population: 63808 (Rank in US: 686) % White: 97.5 (1084) % Black: 1.1 (1649) % Hispanic: 1.3 (1192) % Mexican: .95 (967) % AmerInd: .60 (820) The blackest counties are: Jefferson, MS @ 86.2 Macon, AL @ 85.6 Clairborne, MS @ 82.1 The whitest are: Yellowstone National Park @ 100 Elliot, KY @ 99.9 Kidder, ND @ 99.9 The hispanicist are: Starr, TX @ 97.22 Webb, TX @ 93.87 Maverick, TX @ 93.53 The asianist are: Kalawao, HI @ 76.92 Honolulu, HI @ 62.96 Kauai, HI @ 62.71 The amerindianist are: Shannon, SD @ 94.67 Wade Hampton, AK @ 93.33 Menominee, WI @ 89.18 The poorest are: Shannon, SD @ 63.12% below poverty level Starr, TX @ 59.98 Tunica, MS @ 56.84 A sad, but enlightening commentary is that the counties with the highest % of AmerInds, and Hispanics, respectively, are also the two poorest. ☹ Don’t tempt me, I could tell you the percentage of alcoholic Asians who make more than 100K per year, if I had to. The county I live in now is 98.6% white as of 1996. ---

My high school (population 1500), averaged over the five years I attended, was 99.infinitely-repeating-six% white. We had two blacks and three Asians. I too am 99.less-than-nine% white. As for the elephant, they should have run it over with a train. That’s what St. Thomas, Ontario, did. (I looked for a link to the story of Jumbo, but even though the city has a life-size statue of the creature they don’t mention it at all on their web page. Odd, that.) ---

The last four counties in which I have lived (the numbers are a bit misleading as hispanics and latinos are apparently rolled in white (unless they self-identified otherwise): Alameda County (CA) 59.55% White 17.92% Black 15.05% Asian and Pacific Islanders Clark County (WA) 94.6% White 2.38% Asian and Pacific Islanders 1.25% Black Honolulu City and County (HI) 62.96% Asian and Pacific Islanders 31.61% White 3.09% Black King County (WA) 84.82% White 7.88% Asian and Pacific Islanders 5.06% Black ---

… but I bet it’s got one of the smallest percentages of Blacks. Here’s where I grew up: Gallatin County (MT) 97.46 percent White 0.16 percent Black 1.20 percent American Indian, Eskimo, or Aleut 0.89 percent Asian or Pacific Islander 0.29 percent Other Out of 50,463 people, only 80 were listed as Black. **obfusciatrist** covered my current location (King County, WA) already so I won’t bother repeating. ---

Yeah, amazing, something discouraged the census people! I should have my neighborhood declared a leper colony. 😃 Seriously, Kalawao is a county on paper only. Honolulu is the Asianest county in the US. ---

The stupidity and ignorance of this area (and people in general) never ceases to amaze me. By the way, the site I linked to about this incident is only concerned with the actual hanging. However, the good people of Kingsport (where the elephant killed the trainer) actually held a trial for the elephant where she was found guilty. You see, I only live here to help fight the ignorance that is so prevelant in these parts. I consider it a type of charity work.
