MSNBC reported that approximately 100,000 people turned out for OWS/global day of occupation event near the Colosseum in Italy. So it’s OK to discount them as a disorganized,rag-tag band of hippies. There’s nothing to see here. Move along and don’t worry about it. ---

I’ve got my complaints about the prohibitive cost of higher education, and I’ve also got my share of debt, but these kids asking for loan forgiveness are pissing me off. I feel like half these people are living in a magical fairyland where policy is changed just by wishing. If they want to change things so damned much, they should take their protests out of the street and start banging on some Congressmen’s doors. ---

The left needs better ideas than blocking traffic and demanding other people make it better. They also need more focus. The perfume-poop crowd always wants to make everything about everything. Any event is a political rally, and any politically rally is about every lefty cause they can think of. And many of the younger kids are just annoyed that they didn’t get a high-paying corporate job right out of college. if they had, they’d be grumbling about the protestors while they drove into work. But it’s a lie that these are all college grads with iphones. There are a lot of middle-aged and older people participating, people who have seen their financial futures fall apart despite hard work and prudent decisions. There are soldiers there who have returned from fighting Bush’s wars to find no opportunities. ---
