crap. That;s why I never bet on football. Always with my heart, never with my head. I had a bad feeling about yesterday;s game. We were tebowed Now I’m rooting for the Broncos! but, I think the Pats will kill them. But who knows? Tebow dissected the number 1 defense in the NFL, just imagine what he’s going to do against the worst! ---

The three of us who picked the Ravens are the biggest underdogs to win. This is probably due to the 9(!) points the Patriots are laying the Ravens. If the Ravens were to pull off the upset, then if you were handicapping by [Football Outsiders’ DVOA](http://footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2012/week-19-dvoa-ratings), I’d guess the Ravens would be a Pick 'Em with the Giants, and about a 1.5 pt underdog to the Niners; all assuming the Championship Week performances didn’t skew DVOA too far away from the Week 19 totals. ---

man, what a turd pile of a final four. I have absolutely no interest in any of these teams for a variety of reasons. I would root for the 49ers, but I loathe Jim Harbaugh and his rah-rah coaching style. You have to admit, though it works for him. Oh, and Alex Smith is quite possibly the worst overall number one QB picked in recent memory, so the niners have a few things that bug me. Giants - This is a team that I could get behind… maybe… But I hate Eli with the burning intensity of a thousand suns. His moping, slumped shoulder, pointing the accusatory finger at the teammate who screwed up (and it’s never him) just make the rest of the team disappear. However, I like Tom Coughlin mainly because he takes more shit than anyone who coaches in the NFL (NYC is brutal to the coaches and players that don’t win every game). I also like the idea of Eli having more rings than Peyton, so the Giants are currently the front runner. Ravens? I’m a Steeler fan, so it’s a requirement to hate the Ravens. And I do; Ray Lewis is the biggest reason for my hate, but there are a few other players I can’t stand. Like Joe Flacco. However, I do like John Harbaugh as a coach, and I think it would be good to get rid of Brian Billick’s name as the only Raven’s coach to win a SB. And finally the Patriots. I simply can’t root for any Belichek team ever since it was exposed that he cheated. If Brady wins this game, though, he might finally supplant Montana as the greatest QB in history, which would be just fine by me. This team has absolutely no defense, so Brady’s done a lot of work on his own to get the Pats here, So, where does that leave me? Nowhere. I will end up picking a team that I dislike the least instead of a team I could really root for. The Saints losing really killed my chances of having a rooting interest in the SB after the Steelers laid an egg against Denver. This is just a big shit sandwich and I’m going to have to take a bite. OK - No harbaugh super bowl, so the 49ers are out for sure. So that puts the Giants in from the NFC. And it pains me to say this, but I will root for the Ravens to beat the Patriots, since I just can’t get past the cheating. I can’t root for the Ravens, so I won’t watch any football this weekend. \ I can’t believe I hate all 4 teams left! ---

Anyone on that team will tell you that Eli knows that playbook better than anyone on the team, coaches included. So yes, if he’s yelling to Nicks that he was supposed to run a sluggo and not a out, then Nicks was supposed to run a sluggo and not a out. You’d rather a QB who says “Ah, no biggie…you keep screwing up those routes, no need for me to point out what went wrong there”? ---

Sadly, I watch the Giants every week, and it’s the result of where I live, not desire. I don’t argue that Eli knows the playbook. He’s still the second biggest baby in the league behind his brother. If you ever get a chance to watch an old Saints game, with Archie QBing, you’ll be shocked to see how similar the body language is between father and sons. And of course I want a QB to own up to it. Just not on the field in front of everyone… go do what you need to do in the locker room or the sidelines, but keep the whining to yourself. If what you say is true, he doesn’t need to be so demonstrative when someone runs a bad route. Everyone knows it’s not him anyway, right? He’s the leagues biggest girly man, and that’s because Peyton was out this year. Neil ODonnell threw 2 bad interceptions in superbowl 30 that cost the steelers the game. I know for a fact that one of those passes was not his fault, possibly both. He didn’t mope and skulk off the field. (He beat the shit out of the receiver that ran the wrong route, and left for free agency at the end of the year. Go Jets!) ---

Tim Couch doesn’t deserve to top those bust lists. He was a quarterback for the least talented team in league history, yet improved every year. He got that team to the playoffs within 4 years and was continually improving, and his career was ended because he did irreparable damage to his throwing arm. He doesn’t deserve to be on the same list with Russell, or even Carr. ---

This thread got really funny all of a sudden. “Jim Harbaugh, in his first year as coach, is just like one of the greatest coaches of all time, but better!” -49ers fan. “Eli Manning has no faults! He’s an offensive savant who, outside of his 17INT/year average as a starter and twice leading the league in picks, almost never makes a mistake!” -Giants fan. “Tim Couch was an incredible talent who kept improving until he stunned the league with his 18TD 18INT peak!” -Browns fan. ---

Hey, now. I never said Jim Harbaugh was better than Bill Belichik. I said he has more personality. Obviously Belichick has hall of fame credentials, and Harbaugh is merely a promising rookie. I see enough of what Belichick does in Harbaugh (extreme competitiveness, detail-obsession, out-thinking opponents, tight-lipped) to believe the comparison worth making. And if you look in this very thead, I’d like Jim to beat Bill head’s up in the Super Bowl. ---
