Watch a movie? No. They close down on Friday nights so everyone can go to the football game. For Saturday night there’s only the one walk-in movie place, because the drive-in closed years ago.

Dancing? At the local honky tonk? I think not. You never saw a dry county did you? The only drinks available are at the “County Line Liquor Store” or at the bootlegger’s.

Dinner? Where? At the knock-off Dairy Queen? Or the Hamburger Shack?

Play, musical, bowling, possibly in another town? Drive 50 miles one way to see a musical?

Board games, parties, bunco? That’s what you do on the other five nights. (You aren’t allowed to have fun on Sundays.)

(_sigh_) You just don’t know what it is like growing up in a small West Texas town. I met the whole high school football team, once. Every male in high school got to play on the team - whether he wanted to or not. Some years they didn’t have 12 players.

We are talking towns with one traffic light and every kid is involved with the Future Farmers of America and plans on taking Ag (Agriculture) classes in college. If they go to college.

I really had no idea it was like that. Thanks for the info.

**Nip/Tuck** is a great show, mostly, but there is no way it took place on Earth.
On our planet, there is no way that two busy plastic surgeons could spend up to 80 hours a week in surgery, do virtually no paperwork, and still have time to visit patients in their homes or have them come to their homes, have affairs, deal with family stuff, occasionally go to the gym, eat out a lot, deal with the criminal underworld, hide all the bodies, experience all kinds of mishaps and hell in the O.R. and never end up dead or go to jail or get sued (the lawsuits always got dropped).
