Burt Rutan was working on a replacement design for the A-10, but he’s apparently been unable to get anyone in the military interested in them.

That was the Predator, wasn’t it? I never saw what it offered over the A-10, other than that strange asymmetric engine inlet design to keep the gun exhaust out of the engine.

Dunno. The interview with Rutan I read didn’t have any photographs as Rutan was still keeping the plane underwraps at that point.

In fact it was called the Ares Fighter  
It did appear on a movie (Iron Eagle II?) as the bad guy´s plane.
