Seriously. Cons and libs love to treat this shit so much as if it were actually a scenario. I literally heard more gun debate talk than prayers. This is how much of a joke OUR FUCKING country is… I mean they even tried to make it a race thing… I am tired of freaking agendas being shoved down our asses every time a dangerous incident happens for the sake of FUCKING BROWNY POINTS. Send prayers to the victims, save your shit for later And yes I said this the most unbiased way possible. To this day I am still hearing constant bitching about gun control let alone the fact that is been already like 5 days since the shooting happened. I don’t care what your ideology is, STOP TAKING ADVTANGE OF EVENTS… Is not cool. This is political polarization of America is already causing me mental distress. ---

Aren’t prayers meant to be sent privately? I thought the bible was all about that doing good deeds in private stuff? I agree though, people shouldn’t be talking about issues if its just going to get in the way of all the prayers. ---

Sigh. I want to be all snarky and mean, but I’ve got to at least try once to assume this kid is talking in good faith. Which is more important? That you don’t see people arguing, or that we try to figure out a way to stop these fucking shootings? That’s what this “politicization” is. Gun control is being debated because some level of gun control might help keep guns out of the hands of these people. What do you think politics is? It’s people working together to try and work out problems. (In theory, at least, if not always in practice.) A tragedy is exactly the right time to be discussing what we can do to prevent that tragedy from happening again. It’s when people care the most and there’s the most will to do anything. Pay attention to which side is always crying about “politicization.” Notice how it’s not the side actually offering solutions? Because the point is to stall until people go back to their lives, back to thinking “well, noting like that could happen to ME.” Of course your school is having the debate. Your school is one of these places that could be targeted by a gunman. If it make you uncomfortable, tough. We discuss more than that here. You’re going to be very uncomfortable if you can’t stand people discussing real issues. Yes, even ones that are political. I’m willing to bet that the debates you’ve seen at school pale in comparison to what we’ve said in the two Pit threads on the topic. You wanna make it here, you’re gonna have to toughen up. ---

If a terrorist bombs a place immediately we talk about what we can do to rat out terrorist cells and prevent such attacks from being successful. If there’s a plane crash immediately we talk about what may have gone wrong and what we can do to improve flight safety. But a shooting? Nah, too soon. _Even when the victims themselves_ are saying they want to talk about gun control, we have to respect the victims by handwaving them with the standard bullshit. ---

I mean, I heard more about going to war with Al Qaeda, increasing homeland security, Patriot Act, and all that more than I did about stopping everything and praying for a few months.
