This thread does call out for a big cite on the treatment of the animals at Barnum & Bailey Circus. Can the anti-circus posters support their position of animal cruelty with perhaps a serious Humane Society\* study that specifically address Barnum & Bailey and not other smaller circus? I was under the impression that B&B got a passive grade in general. PETA studies are of course worth nothing at all. Disclaimer: I am an animal lover, I support the humane Society, World Wildlife Fun and even Green Peace but I hate PETA intensely and I hate claims without support. - Or any other legit scientific study. ---

Why do they kill pets that could be adopted out? And why approach sentimental, unreasoning kids instead of their voting-age, money-spending parents? They want it all, that’s why. With PETA’s reputation, they could show a propaganda video of circus animals being mistreated and I would assume that they staged it themselves. I avoid circuses, but it’s only because the clowns terrify me. I’m not going to print up pamphlets about it, though. ---
