There be idiots at the dentist office. Last week Thursday I was scheduled to have a tooth extracted, but since I came down with that vile, nasty cold, I had to reschedule, which I did for yesterday. So I go in yesterday at the appointed time ā€“ and they canā€™t find an appointment for me. None. Not even a scribbled Post-It stuck to the inner ledge of the reception desk. Whomever I spoke to in order to reschedule the appointment not only didnā€™t write it down in the appointment book, she didnā€™t even enter it on the computer appointment thingy. Grrr. So now Iā€™m rescheduled for next Saturday. It turned out to be a little providential though. The infection I had isnā€™t completely gone; thereā€™s a little bit left so I got the dentist to write me a scrip for more amoxycillin, and he mentioned that heā€™d rather he saw me once it was _completely_ gone anyway, because evidently the freezing they do on your gums doesnā€™t take if thereā€™s an infection, so if I _did_ get in yesterday I may well have discovered that the anaesthetic that was supposed to numb my face wasnā€™t working _as he was trying to yank a tooth out_. Probably with me screaming as my only means of pointing this out short of punching him in the sack. But he warned me that he didnā€™t want to prescribe me too much amoxycillin because I can build up a resistance to it. I can understand that, but do resistances really build up that quickly? Anyway. So Iā€™ve got a reprieve so I can still eat solid food ā€“ which I am going to enjoy with aplomb as I make some spaghetti and Awesome Sauce tonight. ---

Today was our office Christmas party. It was held at a casino. We ate, did the white elephant thing, then went our separate ways. I gambled a bit, but didnā€™t win a damn thing. Figuresā€¦ Happy Hannukah to those celebrate. Saw an old friend today and caught up for a bit. It was good seeing him. Iā€™m still full from lunch, but Iā€™m guessing that Iā€™m going to have to prepare some kind of dinner for my husband and son. Daughter is at work. Other than that, not much else going on. ---

It looks to be really cool, and it weighs almost nothing!! Quite a contrast to my extrememly heavy, ancient Viking. I havenā€™t sewn anything yet, but I will. Thatā€™s all for now. Woo hoo! Firstly, **Happy Hannukah!** I got good news on both ultrasounds-thyroid and girly bits-theyā€™re both okay, so yay for that. And good wishes and healing wishes being sent out to others, especially those who have yet to undergo one or the other of these types of procedures. I am -so- glad that the weekend is here! Iā€™ve gotta get out tomorrow morning and do a bit of _ahem_ shopping, but other than that Iā€™ll be insideā€”itā€™s way too cold to be out for long! So Iā€™m going to be doing some cooking too. Iā€™m going to try to make some dal in my crock pot ā€¦ and I might just make some tandoori chicken too. Iā€™ve got a hankerinā€™ for some Indian food, I guess. šŸ™‚ Hope everyone has a warm and enjoyable weekend! ---
