**Iceland\_Blue** , I say this in the spirit of nothing but support and trying to help you help yourself - feeling sorry for yourself never helps anybody, with any condition. Check out “Desiderata” - it has some excellent advice for living, part of which is “If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.” Basically it’s saying tend to your own knitting, and be grateful for what _you’ve_ got, instead of envious of what everyone else seems to have. ---

If you physically/emotionally/whathaveyou need this reassurance and support, you need to get it from a stable, reliable source. It’s probably overstating things, but an anonymous message board is never going to fill that gap for you. It’s true, some people do find comfort and friendship here, but you can’t count on it. $14.95 just doesn’t get you that kind of therapy. ---

Your kid just might not have mood swings as part of his Aspergers. I’ve got one kid with AS who most certainly does have mood swings and one kid with AS who doesn’t. It’s not a core symptom but it’s part of the syndrome. I know other kids who have mood swings as well as part of their presentation. I’ve been told that his mood swings are part of his Aspergers/PDD NOS/HFA by paeds, devleopmental paed, psychiatrists and psychologists so it seems to be pretty well established as part of the syndrome. Granted we haven’t ruled out bipolar absolutely and utterly but it wasn’t used as a rule out/ rule in symptom if that makes sense even when he was rapid cycling. ---
