Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 84 and N.O.S. for the day. I need to hit a couple of sales at three different grocery sto’s this mornin’ or afternoon. They are close together or else I wouldn’t do that. I do not run all over town to save six cents on a can of peas like some people will do. Other than that I plan on doin’ next to nuttin’ today just cause I can and that’s what I want to do today. OYKW wants to go to the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet for dindin and well, he’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’. 😃 I shall devote tomorrow to meat smokeage. **Peaches** N.O.T. sallit and deviled aigs are two of the riskiest items on a church lady buffet. An after funeralizin’ N.O.L. is a dangerous thing to navigate in the southern U.S. of A. All those church ladies standin’ around watchin’ whose N.O.T. sallit and deviled aigs you go for and which ones you leave alone. This is especially true when one knows said church ladies and knows which ones of the church ladies makes the good stuff and which ones make the stuff the dawg would turn up his/her nose at. Also glad you feel better today. **Nava** it really is required to own a deviled aig tray in the southern U.S. of A. Maybe that got inherited from Spain. 😃 **flytrap** I’ve been told that if cheese straws are not served at the reception then the marriage is invalid. I do not gnaw on corn cobs. ‘Tis both gross and disgustin’! OK I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify if I am to venture out into the public. Ignorance fought. 😛 It was 62° IN the house this morning & the highs outside will only be in the 50°s; unless there’s lots of solar heating I may need to break down & put the heater on. I made Pillsbury cookies last night, & since the thermostat is right outside the kitchen, I think the oven made it warmer right there than the rest of the house. ---

Happy Hump Day! It’s a cool 38 degrees outside. According to my phone app, it’s cloudy outside. According to my window, it’s N.O.S. outside. I love N.O.T. salad, and deviled aigs, and corn on the cob, but I don’t own a deviled aig tray - I know I should be ashamed. I’ll get one eventually. You can buy some of his special _healing water_. One woman got a check for $30,000 after receiving his special _healing water_! Kitty is still being a good cat. He discovered a new playground yesterday… the basement. He likes it down there. He’s still trying to run outside whenever we open the door. Not much on the agenda for today. Just the usual, wash dishes, vacuum, laundry, irk… ---

Double quadruple blurf. I was cleared by the ortho to go back to work today. I left a voice mail with my manager to let him know. I get in today and find out that because I can’t do the job and there are no accommodations available, I can’t go back to work until I can do the job. I am running out of paid leave and will have to take unpaid leave. I do _not_ have warm and fuzzy feelings toward my former agency right now. I have no idea what we are going to do. I am open to any suggestions. ---

I would hang my head, but I am trying to get rid of my Stuff[sup]TM[/sup], of which I have too much. I therefore use a serving plate, or, if I’m getting fancy, my cake stand. I do have a supremely awesome N.O.T. sallit recipe. It involves bacon. This may offend the traditionalists among you. Bacon makes (almost) everything better. ---

The hearing is over. Now I wait for the judge’s decision. Could be 2-3 weeks, could be longer. But my lawyer said it went well, and their employability expert agreed I cannot work, so we’ll see ---

**Flytrap** and **Sunny** ; I have two axolotls, but they don’t seem to know how babby is formed, and aren’t making more. Actually, I think they’re both girls. I don’t actually have many photos of 'em, just a few from when they were teeny (I’ve had one since the day she hatched, the othe was reared by a friend). I have one wild type, one leucistic. I’ll see if I can dig any out. Oh, and prepare your fainting couches, but I don’t believe I have ever eaten a devilled aig. I’m sorry, I shall ready the smelling salts. I’m definitely no Southern Lady. ---

Mom’s payday today. She started out before I woke up by paying the car insurance and the storage bill. We went to Walmart, got some money out for rent, used a deposit slip to put it directly into our landlady’s checking account, and went to Huddle House for breakfast. I had their country fried steak platter. (A perfectly normal payday so far.) We then went to Tractor Supply Company because I needed a new pair of jeans. I’ll get another new pair on _my_ payday. We also got a bag of Claeys Old-Fashioned Root Beer Barrel Candies (for me) and a bag of licorice (for her). While I was in the changing room, I briefly removed my socks, and noticed that my toenails were getting waaaay too long. I mentioned to Mom that I needed a pedicure, so we went over to her favorite nail place in town, and I had my very first pedicure. It was lovely. Instead of chilling at Wendy’s until the 7:30 church conference, as we had planned to do, we returned home. Now I’m relaxing, drinking sweet tea, occasionally eating a root beer barrel, and roleplaying with a friend. Happy Hump Day! ---

I have to be able to lift boxes of around 30 lbs. each, push carts of files around the office, work on my feet for hours at a stretch, and because this isn’t my first go-around at the office, I have to be able to fill in for others, as needed, and there are few to no purely sedentary jobs at my level, so they all involve lifting and schlepping. Even if I could walk without pain, which I can’t quite yet, I can’t lift that kind of weight in a boot. My next appointment with the surgeon is not until after Thanksgiving. ---

OMG, **swampy**! You really are retired if you’re hitting up three grocery stores on senior day. Next thing you know, you’ll have a little squeeze coin purse and a fistful of coupons. 😛 **flytrap** , you aren’t legally married if you don’t have an aig plate or didn’t do the chicken dance at your wedding reception. Appendages crossed for you **rosie**. **doggio** , your Southern Belle will likely have an aig plate of her own. 😛 I think that deviled eggs are one of those dishes that make do with what you have in hard times. As an appetizer, they cost next to nothing unless you tart them up with fancy ingredients. Like other poor folk cooking, they survive with great affection as part of our collective culture. ---

And those same fancy trays are good for many other “poor man’s finger foods” such as croquettes, _tigres_ (dunnow what are they called in English if anything, they’re a cousin of deviled eggs made from and in the shells of clams), and so forth.
