Every year for the past few years, I’ve read the Dickens “A Christmas Carol.” While I’ve watched every film version that is available, I still return to the novel. Obviously, it is much shorter than Dickens’ other works as it was not a serial. While I do love some of the film versions, I think I look forward to reading the novel every year even more than watching the film version.

I love the novel, too. I’ve been reading it about every year since I was in high school. Now I read **The Annotated Christmas Carol** , with its many little facts.
I’ve read Dickens’ other Christmas stories. I can’t stand them. A Christmas Carol was easily his most accessible work.
