I had morphine once, it was very nice.
I think it would be very easy to learn to like it.
Oh believe me **MetalMouse** , I wont be having my knees done anytime soon. My last surgery is still a vivid memory, lots of pain.
Sorry **Doggio** , no Hockey names for my pup. Although Mackie’s sister was named Mookie, and I think that was after a hockey player.

I can see a new knee or two, in my distant future as i am in suffering mode right now.
My vacation was just lovely. Insert sarcasm. All one day of it. My Lead whom has given notice was out Monday and Tuesday with a sick child. She irked a part of a day today and is now sick too. So, i shall pick myself up,dust myself off, and go back to work tomorrow and be damn happy about it. No choice. It’s my circus and my monkeys. I will have a three day weekend which is great but still not a vacation. Whine is me.

I wouldn’t try to name a pet until he/she had been home a bit and we’d gotten to know each other.

Well, you could always fire her happy ass for job abandonment, since she seems to think that “I’m quitting” means “now”. Unless, of course, the kid’s sick, in which case, that sucks.
ETA: I should mention I’ve got the headache from hell, so my sympathy ain’t showing. Please forgive.

No, don’t do this! You should not name a puppy for at least the first 4 hours, until you see them & learn what they are. Guess what **Pizza** stole from the table the second night they had him? **OBL** was _soooo_ not the name we originally chose for him (a requirement of where we got him from.)

No worries, I’m just looking for ideas. I don’t even know if I will get a boy of a girl yet. Considering how long it took me to name Adam, I figure a head start couldn’t hurt.
Adam’s new name has been Booger Butt. He is such a brat.
He may have a vet visit coming soon. He is acting a bit off tonight. He seems uncomfortable and is licking his butt a lot. However, he is eating, and using the litter box, and just now he tried to grab the clips off the window shade - so he can’t be too miserable.

Another rainy day - I think I saw critters moving down the road two-by-two… theoretically, it’ll stop tonight… till Saturday. It’s looking like the holiday weekend will be a total washout. We didn’t have plans to go anywhere, but it would be nice to see big ball of fire in sky again.
For some reason, I struggled to keep my eyes open on the drive in this morning. I went to bed at a reasonable hour and I don’t think I woke till 4:15. Still, I’m dragging. And I’m almost out of work, I think. I need to scope out my desk. But it’s my Firday, so there’s that!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 78 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Temps will warm right back up to 90s by Sunday so say TWPTB. I have an appointment with the doc this mornin’ and will seriously consider mowage this afternoon bein’ as the weather will be nice for such things. Of course this means dindin will be forage for yourself time which is fine cause there’s all sorts of makin’s for sammiches.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify before headin’ off to see the doc. A visit to the doc means clean underwear right? 😃

I am at irk. It is sunny and warm out there but I am stuck in the office all day sorting out a timetabling mess.
Started a thread yesterday for advice on stuff for our August trip, now we have hotels booked in Boston and DC, just got one night in Philly to sort out and we’re ready to go. Well, I’m ready to go now but I have four more hours at irk and then we’re escaping to Europe for the weekend before Brexit makes that a damn sight more difficult than it ought to be.

Happy Thorsday!
It’s cloudy and rainy outside, a good day to be inside. TWPTB keep changing their predictions for the rainy days ahead, but it looks like it will be raining most days for the next week, with the temps going up to the high 70s.
I have lots to do indoors anyways, but no motivation to do it.
Adam seems better this morning, but I’ll keep an eye on him.
He is getting fat and lazy.

We arrive on 23rd August and leave on 27th August so there’s a Friday and Saturday in there if that helps 🙂

If I lived closer to DC, I’d volunteer to host, but I’m an hour or so from the nearest Metro station, so that’s impractical. We’ll figure something out.
Meanwhile, when I went to get my sammich from the fridge, I noticed big ball of fire in sky!! So much for the forecast of rain all day. Wonder if the deluge will return in time for my commute home?
