It is definetly a book that requires you to do ‘all the voices’ and if you aren’t familar with accent soup, (or should I say gumbo) that New Orleans offers, it would take away from the enjoyment of the book. ---

Baton Rougean chiming in here - we would most definately be completely inappropriate as a stand in for any part of New Orleans. And anyway, don’t you remember Ignatius’ bus trip up here to interview for that job at LSU? Nothing’s really changed since then.
