A comment in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=505025) got me thinking. How many of you straight guys have ever seen another guy’s erection? I don’t mean in porn, I mean in real life. And what were the circumstances? And how many of you have never seen one? ---

Not that I can recall. Are there really straight guys who teach other straight guys how to masturbate? Everyone I knew, myself included, managed to figure it out for themselves and would have been _incredibly_ uncomfortable in a situation like that. ---

Don’t you have gym where you go to school? If you say “home schooled” OK, but then I would say you seem smart enough from your postings here to realize that when you are missing out on a particularly important aspect of socialization in our society (behaving in a locker room, not seeing another erection, not that there is anything wrong with that), then you will find a way to complete your education which comes not just from books but from social interactions as well. ---

In 7th grade gym class. The guy with the biggest schlong in class occasionally used to walk slowly back from the showers to his locker with a hard-on. Having not yet hit the full blush of puberty, I was fascinated/repelled/jealous. ---

Once. At high school a guy invited me over to his place to listen to some albums. We took a sauna later after that and he whipped it out and went at it. I think he expected me to join in (i.e., get myself off too). I did for a little bit - you know, when in Rome, but then stopped because it was all too wierd. Awkward moment all around. ---

Spend enough time at sea in the Navy and you’ll see more than you care to remember. The only one that stands out–so to speak–was a very well endowed shipmate who used to use his morning wood to hold the strap for his shaving kit when he’d leave the compartment to take a shower and shave.
