Whew! It’s been a busy afternoon and evening! I left work at around 1:30 this afternoon, got home by about two, rounded up the titles to the boat and trailer, along with the license tab and hull stickers for the boat. Mr. Taters loaded up all the gear we were giving to guy for the boat and we drove down to Lacey to meet him at his credit union. We got down there fairly early, so we ate at an okay Mexican restaurant, then drove over to the guy’s credit union to wait on him. He finally showed up and we did the big paperwork shuffle and received our check for the full asking price. After we had the check in our hand, we walked outside to wait on the buyer so he could finish his loan paperwork. His finances and stuff were none of our business, so it was the proper thing to do. He eventually came out, we unloaded all the toys and gear for the boat and unhitched the boat from our Expedition. We then drove off. Turns out the guy is a cop, but he looked so very young. We were laughing and joking with him once we received our check saying, “Okay, we’ve got an appointment to sell the boat at 5:30.” He laughed and said, “That’s okay, I know where you live and could easily pick you up for a trip to the Pierce County Jail”. We all laughed. Anyway, it’s done, we have a check and now we just need to get rid of the truck. On a lark, we drove down to the BMW dealership, just to price them out. Not brand new of course; probably around a 2005 or 2006 model. After that, we had to stop at the mall because my daughter called us to say she needed a bolo or string tie for work. We eventually found one in a Western wear store. By the time we got home it was past 7:30. I heated up some dinner for the kids and the hubby and I played WoW for about 30 minutes. He’s gone up to bed now and I’ll follow shortly. My daughter has to be at work tomorrow at 8:00 am. It’s another day of training, but hopefully, she’ll get to do more than sit at a computer and watch training movies. She seemed awfully tired today. At least her training is on the clock, so she’ll get paid for it. **Rigs,** I’ve got a big bat. That should help you smash things into next week. Seriously, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. I get to spend the day alone in my office tomorrow. The rest of my branch is either on leave or on a RDO. Hopefully, it’ll be quiet and I can get some work done. Well, that’s about it for now. Papa Tigs is on RDO tomorrow, too, **Taters** , which is silly – if he really wants to get work done, tomorrow would be the best day ever to be at work (except for a training holiday): it starts with the promotion ceremony for the departing commander, then the change of command ceremony, and then everyone takes off because, well, it’s Friday afternoon and they always all take off on Friday afternoon. (They haven’t quite got the New Orleans weekend down, which starts at Thursday noon, but clearly they’re working on it!) Seems like he’d get lots done without all those annoying customers, well, annoying him. I guess he just wants a day to play with the dogs. Works for me. 😃 Papa Tigs is also still quite delighted with the reaction he received from me to his news this morning about the Pow Wow. He wasn’t expecting me to freak out so much. I think I’ve figured out why it happened – my awareness of my cultural illiteracy caused me to freak out because I was afraid that my cultural illiteracy would cause me to offend my hosts, if that makes any sense. Anyway, Ex-Boss and I emailed back and forth all afternoon, and I feel much better about the whole thing now. Plus she’s really excited that we’re actually coming – I don’t think when she issued the invitation a couple years ago to come to the annual Pow Wow one year that she expected we’d ever actually take her up on it. Because it is, after all, in backwoods Wisconsin. She didn’t realize, I guess, just how much Papa Tigs and I enjoy experiencing new cultures! I get the impression we are going to be very much honored guests, however, which helps me recover from the last of my fears. I’m getting quite excited about the whole thing! It should be quite an event; they expect 10,000 people! Anyway, back to the last few pages of this job and then to bed; I’m nearly done with the first day of this two-day depo. The best thing about it is that the witness has a _lovely_ English accent. He says “shedule” and everything. The subject matter is dull in the extreme (SEC, some obscure point of accounting in a publicly traded company he used to work for), but that’s okay because he’s so pleasant to listen to. Nighty-night, everyone! Night shift folks, if you do feel like misbehaving, please take it to Room 304 and keep the shrieks and giggles down! ---

I just have to say that every time I see a reference to room 304 it amuses me because where I work we have a room 304. And it’s a nice room, too, with a view and a balcony. _g_ ---

Re. the eagle feathers, I don’t think it’s illegal in Spain. Actually, I do hope it’s not, as we have a big feather at Mom’s that we think came from an eagle. There’s several eagle nests in Foz de Arbayún (Arbayoon canyon), we found the feather there on one day that we went to pick blackberries and eagle-watch. There’s several places near my hometown where you can bring bird chicks or hurt birds; they have catch-and-release programs (but not for human teenaged males, I think, only for avians of both genders) and some work with the local guvmint on the “big birds” programs (vultures, kites and eagles among others). They’ve done things like take the eggs from an abandoned nest, raise the hatchlings (they try to do it in a way that doesn’t convince the baby vultures that they’re canaries) and release them. ---

Cheeseincrust I’m getting my ass kicked tonight at work. I wanted to chat more, but how about I just share some news about my next week and a half. Tomorrow (Saturday) night I designate drive for a bachelor party, and next Sunday I get to be best man for a wedding. I’m scared shitless of the responsibility, but it really isn’t as bad as I’m worried about. It’s my best friend Dave, and we’ve been friends since two years old. No shit. Rehearsel dinner this Sunday. Sounds yummy. ---

Morning all! Up and caffeinating (sad, isn’t it? :)), but at least it is **Firday**! **LiLi** , yes, that’s it, the Liberte yogurt! I like to freeze that before eating. Believe it or not, it is delicious frozen. Probably the full fatness of it, I guess. LOL The Fage yogurt doesn’t come out quite as well after freezing.
