You are thinking of Paul the gorilla. He is the companion of Jennifer of the jungle and is was a fairly regular character who appears in multiple episodes. (Boy I have a bunch of useless crap rattling around in my brain)

This [site](https://a-z-animals.com/blog/silverback-gorillas-vs-grizzly-bears-who-would-win-in-a-fight/) disagrees.

> Although a [silverback gorilla is very fast, quite strong](https://a-z-animals.com/blog/silverbacks-fight-with-bared-teeth-mere-feet-from-humans/), and has a longer arm span, it is unlikely that a silverback could defeat the much larger and faster grizzly bear in a fair fight.

As to the OP it’s a prank like any other. Whether a prank is appropriate in the work place or welcomed by the recepient, depends on the workplace, on the sense of humor of the recipient and their relationship with the sender. I don’t think that there is anything that make gorrillagrams unique in that regard.

The message it sends is “I have a sense of humor, and am willing to go to some degree of effort/expense to send you this message, and I want to make sure that you and everyone around you knows this.”

I found video clips of him before, but they were from the _EC_ remake (which isn’t a bad show). But looking again I found a classic one. And bonus, it is Morgan Freeman-heavy.

Are you sure you weren’t hearing guerillas instead of gorillas? Because guerillas could certainly be threatening. Paramilitary warfare could frighten both adults and children

How about this:

Let’s say a polar bear wanders to far south, while a grizzly bear wanders to far north.

Then they encounter one another.

Before this encounter, the polar bear never even knew that grizzly bears even existed, and vice versa.

Tensions are running high, and then a fight ensues.

Who wins?

There are multiple hypothetical encounters with other such animals that live in completely different regions of the world that will remain hypothetical because they will never encounter each other naturally.

How about a Rhinoceros vs Hippopotamus?

> A grizzly–polar bear hybrid (also named grolar bear, pizzly bear, zebra bear, grizzlar, polizzly, or nanulak) is a rare ursid hybrid that has occurred both in captivity and in the wild. In 2006, the occurrence of this hybrid in nature was confirmed by testing the DNA of a unique-looking bear that had been shot near Sachs Harbour, Northwest Territories, on Banks Island in the Canadian Arctic. The number of confirmed hybrids has since risen to eight, all of them descending from the same femal Po...

I wonder how the Kodiac bear would fit into the power rankings here?

They are native to Kodiac island near Akaska.

I heard that, except for hybrids, they are the second largest bear on earth, after the polar bear.

I have nothing to add to the experience of a Gorillagram, but was wondering if the absurdity of a gorilla suited performer with a message/gift/etc might be taken as more of a prank than the appearance of a clown. Not that gorillas wouldn’t be scary- I would be much more likely to tangle with a sudden clown encounter here in Minneapolis than I would with a (presumably) real gorilla. And there are people who are really clown- phobic. (I’m not particularly, I worked with someone who pretty much lost it at the cash register when a clown showed up to order some coffee). That said, I hadn’t thought too much about stalking, embarrassing or keeping tabs on someone. Wouldn’t you have several Gorillagrams if that might be the case? That would be really unusual.

My reaction to a gorilla would be different if the gorilla is carrying balloons and is dressed in a cute little apron than it would be if were naked and not bearing gifts.

Just FYI to all you pranksters and stalkers out there!
