There are many fun ways to escalate this that _probably shouldn’t_ get you arrested when the plane lands. ---

Wasn’t this the same movie that is alleged to have pretty horrifically abused the dogs appearing in it? There was leaked footage of a trainer forcing a clearly terrified dog back into the water. Yeah, I know, since this has been revived, I think it’s important to remember that this isn’t so much a feel good hit as dog torture porn. And I love how the consensus is that it’s PETA’s fault for letting people know about the abuse. ---

It’s just that this movie brought up a lot of memories and feelings. The hardest part of the film to watch when Maya kept asking an elderly Tino what he was thinking and he was thinking how he had a good life, but “it was time.” I actually had to pause the film at that point. And then Waffle’s life was very similar to what I know of Max’s life with his first owners, except it was a trailer park. Then he was rescued by the woman who had him before me, turned into a spoiled house pet, then she had a stroke and eventually I got him. So he was twice rescued. I don’t think dwelling on film is very good for my (or any dog owner’s) mental health so I may not come back to this thread. I will say this is the most emotionally manipulative thing I’ve ever seen. ---

Yeah, and I used to chase my cats with the vacuum cleaner. If it were up to PETA, owning pets would be illegal, so they can get pushed into a Jacuzzi, which is essentially what happened to the dog here.
