I don’t share the OP’s cosmic hatred of these posts, but the “My favorites are the coolest things ever!” attitude is a little grating. I’ve been doing my damndest to grow out of this attitude, and it’s frustrating to see it in many Dopers that I consider otherwise mature and cool. \*\* Well, they wouldn’t be “favorites” unless that person thought they were the coolest things ever, right? I see no reason to mind intense enthusiasm over a thread that everyone can clearly see is as subjective as a schnorkph. 😕 - Wind ---

Well, you’ve all already posted the things I was going to say, so I guess I’ll be going. Oh, and **Genseric,** when you said, “I apologise for offending your delicate sensibilities, and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.”, did you mean that you’d continue apologizing, or continue offending? Just curious. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/a-doper-thing-that-pisses-me-off/125679.md?page=2)
