Aw, crap. “FTONY” is gonna sound even more poignant now. I think I’ll go listen to it. ---

Seems as though Kirsty has hijacked this thread… They played ‘I don’t want to change the world’ this morning. I loved that when I was a kid. Miss you Kirsty. XXX ---

> [@](#): > > Seems as though Kirsty has hijacked this thread… There’s a place to mourn Kirsty here: [Kirsty MacColl has Died](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=51808) Back OT, it’s not a “great” xmas song, but I can appreciate the sentiment behind Fear’s “Fuck Christmas”. I have a Rhino compilation CD called _A Punk Rock Christmas_ that has such classics as Stiff Little Fingers’ _White Christmas_ and The Dickies’ _Silent Night_. ---

I agree with the OP. But I do have a soft spot for Slade’s _MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY_ and Frankie goes to Hollywood’s _The Power of Love_. RIP Kirsty ☹ [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/a-fairytale-of-new-york-best-xmas-song/44644.md?page=2)
