HAPPY BIRTHDAY MBG!!! Today was my division’s turn to treat everyone in the office to food. We elected to go with an italian theme, so we had sketti’s, cheesy sketti bake, lasagne, meatball, caesar salad, artichoke/spinach deep, garlic bread, antipasta, and the salad that’s made with basil, fresh mozzerella, and tomatoes. It was all tasty, and I’m still full. Tomorrow another branch is going to provide food. Welcome to the newbies and welcome back **Nava.** I finished my Christmas decorating yesterday (well as much as I’m willing to put up). That was the extent of my exciting day besides laundry and such. I was very productive this morning while at work, but I pretty much had a big case of the justdonfeellikeits this afternoon. However, I persevered and managed to get some more done. I guess I should go see what “Rules of Cool” I’m breaking. I’m sure I’m a BIG rule-breaker, because I’m a rebel. ---

I really can’t stand going to the dentist sometimes. The hygienist (sp?) was brutal on me. I got back a few hours ago… And now my gums are torn apart, scabbing and swollen. I’ve been putting ice on them for the last twenty minutes (which feels fabulous, let me tell ya; ice near roots of teeth = OW), and doing warm salt water rises, but the swelling still isn’t gone down. It’s all throbby and bleedy and distracting… Waaah. ☹ ---

ICK **meli**! Feel better. **Mooooom** jake on ya for the good work at work. Don’t it feel good! Speakin’ of feelin’ good, I got me a nice big fat paycheck today for the consultin’ work I did two weeks ago. WOOHOO!!! Now they need to get that expense check to me before the credit card bill comes in. **Rebo** you’re welcome. Actually, I hadn’t realized if anyone was supposed to do it or not. I just jumped in so there’d be one to annoy all the MMP naysayers. Speakin’ of which, to all the MMP naysayers, I say… So There! 😛 Ok, tonight was great. There were twelve of us which is a purty good crowd for my little church. What felt real good was bein’ thanked for offering to host at da cave. Great buncha guys. Even if they are pigs. I made three dozen rolls figuring on havin’ some left over and they all got et! Also, I made eight dozen cheese crisps and they got all et too. That’s no big deal cause they’re tiny and eatin’ eight or nine of 'em is easy to do. Plus, they do taste so dang good with beer! It’s a combo of the tanginess of extra sharp cheddar cheese and a healthy dose of cayenne pepper that makes 'em such good beer food, IMO. Anywho, ‘twas a good time had by all. Everything’s cleaned up and Mr. Dishwasher is runnin’. It was a good evening. Nite Y’all! ---

Don’t worry, **mmmmms** , I got enough punctuation to make up for you. See, I got a rush job to get done by tomorrow, and the last chunk of this job had already been done by someone else. So I was going through her portion, making sure all our formatting matched, and I ran across a word that apparently she’d never heard of so she came up with her own substitute. As an aside, for many years, my favorite of such efforts has been one from early in my career, where another woman had never heard of the word “entreneurial” but wanted to put _something_, so she came up with “intrepid oriole.” :dubious: 🙂 😃 This one is even better, though. Apparently she’d never heard of the word “bivouac,” and so this was the sentence that cracked me up: “They were bibwhacked in the Reserve building.” We just can’t stop picturing all those naughty babies whacking everyone with their bibs! Hee! Hehehe! 😃 We won’t even discuss where she typed (I can’t say “transcribed” because this ain’t transcription), “They were all a bunch of fairy tails.” **Swampy** , was she talking about you? 😃 Needless to say, a lengthy chronology of her errors – run-on sentences, bad punctuation (either wrong or missing altogether), etc., etc., etc. – has been sent in to the office. It’s a damn good thing they’re paying me to deal with this mess! :rolleyes: I only froze lettuce once. But it was my own fault – I put it in the freezer. For no other reason than that I’m an idiot. 😉 ---

**mmmmm** , I hope you get heat soon. I started a lace scarf using [this yarn](http://www.colorsongyarn.com/yarns/fleece_artist/italian_silk.htm) in Fruit Punch. That’s the one at the far left on the bottom. Pictures don’t do justice to this yarn. It’s gorgeous! OTOH, it \*is \*silk, so it stinks to high heaven. I’m one of those unlucky people who can smell silk. It’s so pretty, yet so stinky. It’s not so bad now that it’s been wound and I’m knitting with it. It’s nice and soft and scrumptious. This was actually a pet yarn, but I decided to knit with it anyway. (Some knitters have yarn that’s never meant to be used, only petted and/or looked at, i.e. pet or trophy yarn.) ---

Ooh, what gorgeous yarn, **Shadow**! I don’t blame you for getting it originally as a pet yarn – I have some nubbly heavy Japanese mulberry silk that I once tried knitting with, but immediately put away and just drool over periodically myself. I’d never heard that name for it, but that’s perfect! Is it bedtime yet? ---
