**{{{Butters}}}** - whether you know the end is near or not, losing a critter is always hard. Just keep thinking about the good and go in denial about the bad as much as you can. I was going to go with Amazon Prime for video, until I found out that our TV and BluRay player, as well as the Roku in the other room, are too old to be compatible. I’m not paying for video that I can only watch on the computer. I don’t order enough from them to make the free shipping an issue, so I need to cancel my free trial. Such is life. Taz decided he needed a drink NOW at 5, and 5:30, and 5:45, so I’m up eating leftover pizza. \*\*FCD \*\*just got out of the shower - I had closed the curtains so he could sleep in, but I guess he was too awake. It’s a glorious 62° right now and the house has been open all night. Today’s plans are TBD. Meanwhile, I’ve got a slice of pizza to finish ingesting. Happy Firday!! ---

Happy Firday! It’s a cool but cloudy 68 degrees and only getting up to 76 today. Windows are open and I don’t have to run the AC. I slept a full four and half hours last night, that is a big step up. Not much on the agenda today. My uncle is having a cookout tomorrow but I doubt I’ll go. I should go. However my stomach is not back to normal and I still sometimes get queasy when I see/smell food. Or food smells good, I take a few bites and then feel sick. {{{ **Butters and Louie** }}} ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 73 Amurkin out with a predicted high of 93 and partly cloudy (or partly sunny) with a late afternoon chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse. It should hold off until after cee-mint pond time. This is day two of meat smokeage. Today’s smoked meats are chikin boobs and laigs. This shall commence shortly as soon there will be enough daylight for me to see on the deck. I also shall go get ice over to the church house. Howzzat for excitatement! Ok, I need some more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. After that and commencin’ with smokeage, I shall also purtify. \*\*swampy \*\*- I knew you were lying about wearing an apron!!! 😛 I am showered and dressed. I loaded the dishwasher and it’s nearly done its cycle. The stuff that wouldn’t fit has been washed by hand and is all drying in a rack on the counter. I’m thinking I’ll do a trash and recycling run as soon as the convenience center opens at 9:30. Beyond that, I still haven’t decided what the day holds. ---

_ **BLURF** _ I am at irk today making the big bucks. I am an exempt employee which means no overtime but I can and do get paid double for working on a holiday. Love double pay. It continues to be so dang hot. Heat index yesterday was 108 F. There is a tropical wave forecast for today with a 60% chance of rain and I hope it happens. This is rainy season but we haven’t had any yet. Folks in Texas can’t catch a break from rain. All this meat smokeage is making me hungry. We have an electric smoker and I am now thinking I may smoke something too. I think a couple of whole chick birds would work. We now have a boat. Hubby went in halves with our wonderful neighbor and bought a fixer upper. The neighbor has done all the work with scavenged parts and pieces and it went into the water yesterday and is docked on my seawall. It is a really nice boat now. So we can go fishing and swimming and beer drinking…fun stuff. **Sari** sounds like you had a really bad reaction to the anesthesia. Almost every time I was ever put to sleep I puked afterwards. I know TMI. Happy Independence Day everyone. ---

\*\*Butters \*\*- smoke them birds!! I did two when the inlaws were here last week, and the leftovers became a yummy chickie salad. My smoker is electric also and it’s become my favorite appliance, after my rotisserie… and my steamer… and my toaster oven… 😃 OK, it’s between the rotisserie and the steamer, only because it’s such a mess to clean. Just back from the convenience center. Trash and recycling has been dispatched. That’s two thing I’ve accomplished today. Go me! 😃 ---

Speaking of foot cramps, I got the most terrible cramp in my toes yesterday. I don’t really know what causes that sort of thing, or how to prevent it. I may start a thread about it if it persists. I had problems with that a few years ago.
