Howdy Y’all! Dindin has been ingested and I have Ben & Jerry’s chawklit fudge brownie ice cream. OYKW swiped it for me. 😃 OK, so the three local Whiskypal churches have a joint prayer and healin’ service scheduled for tomorrow evenin’ down at ol’ St. Paul’s followed by a meal. First communication was bring a dish to share. OK, good with that. Then it’s goin’ to be a sketties supper. OK, so what does one bring to go along with sketties. Finally it’s goin’ to be a sketties supper and folks are ask to bring donations of food and supplies for storm victims. They couldn’t have just said that first? :smack: Anywho, I have volunteered myself to come help cook/set up. **Blurf**. Irked all day, came home and cooked, cleaned and had just laid down when neighbor wanted me to walk over to get homegrown maters and banana bunches. So, I walked over in my robe and slippers. I guess I am the crazy lady that traipses around the hood in robe and slippers. Fuck 'em. Was dark out and no one saw me except farmer lady. I am so upset re the President and that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Job is also a PIA of late. So that concludes my bitchfest. Thank you all for the support. Things are getting different around Da Jungle. New Fearless Leader is cracking down on everyone HARD and not in a totally understandable manner. As long and annoying as it can get I still have the opportunity to learn things I would never get the chance to discover otherwise. I am reasonably sure that it is ok, so long as you know how to do it in a way that hurts him more than you. Why does my left hand smell like Chinese noodles? I had Chinese noodles on the Epiphany, but that was 19 days ago! I’ve washed! ---

Happy Camel Day, mumpers! Sadly no pub for me tonight as it’s Burns Night and my pub friends are off out with family to a BN supper at a local catering college where they will be practiced upon by students. Should be entertaining for them as one of my friends has definitely been there, done that, and still works in catering so she’ll be keeping an eye on 'em. Today is also the day when I get to tell my troublesome minion that he’s being moved elsewhere. Well, technically my manager gets to deliver the bad news but I have to be at the meeting. I think he’s staying with us until the end of the month and then moving to the other team so that will be a rather uncomfortable week for us. Aside from that, nothing much happening. I, along with 'im indoors, have applied for a 5-year global entry wossname for the US since we are turning out to be frequent visitors and it might cut down the amount of time we spend in immigration queues. So far I have passed the UK Border Force background checks, now I have an access code with which to set up an account and complete my application, then I should have an interview in the next 6 months. I’m hoping we can get interviews on the same day in London rather than having to fix a date when we are actually in the US. If not, we’ll have to see what we can work around our easter trip to Phoenix, Denver and all the bits in between. Mumpers…we are also doing an east coast trip starting in Boston and our original intention was to go by Amtrak to Washington DC. We’d considered a stop in Philly but apparently that’s been deemed Not A Good Idea. Anywhere on the route where we should stop? Somewhere that’s got some life, some stuff to see and do. Any suggestions? ---

So I guess the dress for the day is jacket over tubetop. 😃 I shall go to the sto’ (three of ‘em to be exact) this mornin’ for provisions and mayhaps to the liberry whilst out and about. \*\*BooFae \*\*- Baltimore is on the Amtrak line. I’m a bit biased, having spent my formative years thereabouts - plus my fambly lives in and around the city - but I think there’s a lot to see and do there. The National Aquarium is definitely a lovely way to spend a few hours. There are lots of restaurants in the Inner Harbor. And if your timing is right, my sis is a bartender in Fells Point and she’s most entertaining! 😃 What sorts of things do you like to do during your travels? That might prompt some suggestions. And why did you nix Philly? \*\*Spidey \*\*isn’t all that bad!!! And make sure you allow some time for a Mumpfest!!! Amazingly, I think I had a full, uninterrupted night of sleep. I don’t recall waking in the wee small hours, altho I was awake about 10 minutes before my alarm went off - that doesn’t really count. So yay for rest!! And onward into my day. Happy Wednesday!! ---

I got a message from my sister - one of my cousins OD’d and died yesterday. I hadn’t seen her in decades - honestly, I don’t know if I’ve seen her since I joined the Navy in '73 - maybe once or twice. When her parents divorced, it really messed her up. She ended up having a baby when she was a teen and her dad, my uncle, raised her. (Then that kid had a baby that my uncle had to raise, but that’s another story…) Anyway, my cousin got into drugs, prostitution, and larceny and she spent lots of years in and out of prison. She didn’t come to either of our grandparents’ funerals. She’d pretty much disappeared. But not too long ago, my sister reconnected with her on FB and she seemed to be living like a responsible adult. Until last night. I don’t know what demons she struggled with, but I hope she’s a peace now. She was only 48. She was virtually a stranger to me. And yet, it saddens me. RIP, Christine. ---

I plan to speak with the temp agency that got me this job and put myself back on their roster. While I understand that people don’t want to hire folks who are currently unemployed (which I find ridiculous), I can’t understate the toll this job takes on my mental health. Not to mention the gaslighting effect of people around here thinking that this is how an office is “supposed” to be. I once _didn’t_ quit a job that made me feel this way and ended up getting daily nosebleeds from the stress and having night terrors and a depressive episode it took months to climb out of. I think I’ll take my chances. 🙂 ---
