# A Frank Conversation on Erections and Pain

So I have a girl friend of mine to told me that her ex-boyfriend used to tell her that when he would get turned on and get an erection she would have to take care of it because if she didn’t it would hurt. I just assumed because her boyfriend was a monster (a complete and total depraved human being) that he was just saying this to trick her into giving him some because that’s just the sick person he was, so I dismissed it.
I was talking yesterday to another girl friend of mine and she essentially said the same thing. If a guy gets hard and then nothing happens it ends up hurting the guy down there.
Now as a guy I have plenty plenty plenty of times gotten turned on by a girl and not anything come from it (long story short I used to just finish her and rarely did me) and I never once felt any pain or discomfort or anything from it. Any guys wanna chime in and mention if they feel this supposed pain that happens? Is this a real thing that a lot of guys have? Girls have you heard this same thing?

Well blue balls do exist, but it usually occurs after more sexual activity than just popping a chub.

I don’t really have the parts to comment, but I was at a party once where someone had given a guy a little blue pill for a joke\*. He had an erection for hours and he said it really hurt. And you could tell from his face, it really did. Poor guy. Other than that, I’ve never heard a guy complain about pain just from an erection.
(\*It turns out this is a bad joke.)

I have had blue balls. A dull pain.
I have also had pain during erections; however, ‘finishing’ didn’t stop the pain any better than the erection going away on its own.
But maybe these guys had a different experience than mine.

I’ve had hardons that were so hard they hurt me- usually it lasts for the first few minutes after the erection begins, then it goes away as I go from “rock hard” to just “hard”.

Well the overall cause of the pain was when he/the guy got erect and then it went back down, and had pain from that, and not having pain by being erect too long or “sex headaches”
I am glad to hear a majority seem to agree with me and that it’s some BS line, but any and all contributors are welcome

I used to get erections at the weirdest times, like at work in my scrubs, where that thing was _real_ evident. The only way to get rid of it was to go the bathroom and bop my baloney, because if I didn’t, I’d get blue-balls for sure.
When the nurses used to ask me for a back rub, after the first time, I had to start begging off, because I can’t rub on a woman without getting hard. Pretty soon it became an ER joke, that when we weren’t busy, some lady would sweetly ask “Bee-yul (down here, the name Bill has 2 syllables), will you rub mah bah-yuk?”, and my face would turn fire engine red and I’d get busy somewhere else.
Okay, now: Since I’m on beaucoups meds for my dementia, I can’t _get_ an erection, so i asked my PCP for some Viagra and started taking them. Nothing. Just a lot of expense. It got so frustrating that **D** said one night I cried out in my sleep, "_I want my 4 hours, dammit!_.
But I ain’t gettin’ no damn Pos-T-Vac. 😉

I wouldn’t say pain. But getting sexually aroused – seriously aroused, not just “seeing the cover of a Cosmo” aroused – without then getting some sexual contact (doesn’t even necessarily have to be genital contact) is really damned uncomfortable. It notably unsettles my stomach and makes me jumpy like I’ve had too much caffeine. Damned unpleasant.

When I was a teenager, I had a couple of occasions where I was at home, ah… indulging myself when one of my parents came home unexpectedly, forcing me to abandon the job before I was finished. It was not comfortable. Usually it was just an dull ache, but one time it hurt like I’d been kicked in the balls.
So it’s a real thing, at least for some guys, but IME, only when you’re significantly close to orgasm and have to stop cold. Pretty sure being a teenager is an important factor, too.

Not too long ago, I had one of those “Y’know, just make sure you’re ok, 'cuz I’m just not gonna get there.”
She looked at me a little bit shocked and said “Isn’t it going to hurt?!?!”
I had no idea why she asked that. Now I know.

I’d call it just highly distracting rather than painful. Like it’s hard to focus on anything else until the need is satisfied.
When I was around 20 I do recall some physical discomfort, but I wouldn’t say outright pain.
