# A friend has Signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma

Just learned that a friend of mine has [this rare cancer](http://www.cancer.net/cancer-types/appendix-cancer). Things look pretty ugly.

He. Luckily he is a vet, thus has access to health care. But from what I’ve read, it’s one of those cancers that doesn’t show symptoms until it’s pretty far along.
