Clearly, you’re doing something wrong.
I am also older than Homer now, despite being roughly Bart’s age when the show came on.

I was 12 years old when the Simpsons first aired. I was a bit older than Bart. Now I’m a lot older than Homer. This is all trippy.
Thinking back on those days, all of my memories are in sepia tone. And I also recall having an onion on my belt.
I want some of them Beer Goggles!
Smapti, or Smaptey, as he liked to be called … DOH!
Must be off-brand. I only buy the ones that spell his name correctly.
And I must say, this is a perfectly cromulent thread.
It must have been very annoying for non fans back in the early days. Almost anything in a conversation could trigger a Simpsons reference.
The Simpsons episode where Homer joins Lollapalooza because Bart and Lisa think he’s lame for liking Grand Funk Railroad is 26 years old which makes it as old as Grand Funk Railroad was at that time.
But I just heard them on the King Biscuit Flower Hour!
I think Homer said “D’oh!” in one of the episodes…he might of had a donut too…I dunno, just a hunch.
I was watching an episode from the mid-90s the other day, where they mentioned that Skinner, a Vietnam veteran, was 44. Then it hit me that someone 44-years-old now would have been born a few years after the Fall of Saigon, and that Skinner would have to be, at minimum, in his late 60s to have served in the war, and more likely about 70 if he actually saw combat and did time as a POW. Grandpa Simpson, a World War II vet, should be pushing about 100 by now.
he might of had a donut too
How to say “I haven’t watched the Simpsons in a while” without actually saying it.
I don’t think Homer has had a donut in 20 years. Definitely not donut obsessed, at least, like the early seasons.
The pinball machine must look really dated, with both bowling and donut themes, both of which seem to have been forgotten somewhere along the line.

Yeah, that’s what they all say. They all say “D’oh.”
