My aunt just sent me this email. She lives in Toronto and was walking her roommate’s dog in a nearby park and this happened: …so I’m in the park near my building with the dog, Haley. She’s romping around finding sticks and having a good old time of it. I hear another dog barking, and look up to see two little terriers barking away and approaching her aggressively. She’s good with other dogs, so we just stay put and wait for the little dogs to approach to see what they are going to do. The white one charges right up to Haley, still barking and starts digging furiously at the ground. Weird. Then she starts charging Haley, and Haley tries to bolt…at this point I’m looking around for the dogs’ owner, who is approaching up the path. The other dog is now getting closer too and still barking…this dude seriously needs to get both of his dogs on leash! I have to grab Haley’s collar to keep her from running away. At this point, the owner of the dogs starts calling them to come back, but they aren’t having any of it. As he gets closer I say “hi” and am about to initiate a conversation about his dogs, when I realize _holy shit, that’s Geddy Lee_. Geddy Lee’s dogs are now surrounding and barking at Haley like crazy. I have to put her in a full body hug to keep her from running. Geddy runs up and manages to get both of them on leash, saying “they’re just all bark, you know how terriers are, little loud short people… sorry about that” and I mumble something like “that’s OK, mine’s a scaredy-cat, just a puppy” etc etc. I have to keep holding on to Haley’s collar so she won’t bolt, trying to calm her down, while Geddy friggin’ Lee gets his 2 dogs on leash and walks back to his big black car and drives away, not having walked nor romped with his dogs at all. Haley wins. We stay in the park and play. 😃 ---
