# A Game of Thrones on HBO question

I just finished reading the book and am now just starting on the second in the series. My question is, does anyone know if the HBO series will stick ONLY with plot-points from the first book, or will tidbits from future books come into play? I’d hate to watch only to have something (even minor) spoiled for me!

I was going to ask this in the existing thread, but even skimming through it and seeing posts about The Others made me decide to steer clear of it.

What I’ve seen so far implies that each season/miniseries will be one book.

The books are plotted tightly enough that I would think they’d stick with the timeline pretty closely, though I can certainly see that some subplots will be snipped down and minor characters combined.

But no one knows for sure yet.
