Andy Sippowicz is a modern-day Job. Actually, given the plot twists of his life, he’s a modern-day Susan Lucci. So far we’ve had: Alcoholism Divorce Wife gets shot and killed Prostate cancer He gets shot Partner leaves show for “movie career” Son gets shot and killed Partner dies of mysterious ailment Son contracts mysterious ailment Partner gets hit by the mob, turns up in carpet Ex-wife becomes “born again” Several near-relapses of alcoholism Did I miss anything? So, I want predictions people. What ELSE can happen to Andy Sippowicz? Will a dingo eat his baby? Will aliens abduct him and perform medical experiments? Will he have to shoot partial nude scenes with nubile actresses? ---

You forgot his bout with what the hell was it prostrate issues??? Yea, hell, I was just thinking about that last night. I am so tired of them throwing tragedy his way. Yea, I know the show’s a drama, that doesn’t mean that all things within it need to be tragic. I remember back in the GOD (good Old Days) when Steve Boccho seemed to know this, in Hill Street Blues, there was comic relief “hi Ma” and people actually had happy things happen to them at times. I’m thinkin another illness for him - diabetes perhaps, perhaps nearly loosing a limb? ---

Related to the Andy “Ain’t That a [Weekly] Kick In The Head” Sipowicz question is whether NYPD Blue can have an episode where someone on the detective squad, or one of their relatives, isn’t a crime victim. It seems that the NYPD Blue detectives spend more than half their time dealing with “personal” criminal cases. Maybe they should stop taking public complaints and deal full time with mugged mothers, murdered partners, druggie ex-husbands, etcetera, of fellow detectives. 🙂 “A terrorist blows up the squad room, leaving only Andy alive?” Now you’re thinking like an NYPD Blue scriptwriter – Andy angst and the detectives being crime victims; kill two birds with one stone. 😃 ---

Why is his ex wife becoming ‘born again’ a bad thing? Would it be bad if she converted to Judaism? Following the history… I assume his new partner will be the Saved by the Bell guy. Well we know what will happen to him. He will screw that blond and die. His new partner? Former child star Jaleel White, best known as Urkel. That will push him to the bottle and he will go to Vegas and pull a 3 day bender and end up dead of a heart attack after a night with 4 hookers. ---

I don’t know who Andy Sippowicz is, but he sure sounds like a real-life version of Furrball from **Tiny Toon Adventures**. ( **rjung** watches this reference fly over the head of everyone else on this board. _Le sigh._) ---

Poor Andy… I love this grumpy man…! He for sure had his share of disasters! I missed a bunch of shows, and never unsderstood what happened to his kid? what disease did he have, is he cured? ---

“NYPD Blue” or more accurately “How many gut-wrenching nightmares can we visit upon the fat grumpy guy” is just a plot by anorexic scriptwriters to make us all believe that being fat will cause us to be generally abused by the universe!! Oh, wait, that’s true. nevermind. B.
