Well, I’m an idiot and I quoted the wrong post (it’s what I get for trying to do it without my reading glasses :rolleyes:) What I MEANT to say was that I agree with this:

I do only civil cases. A pretty good sign of a scumbag is an unusual case where the client doesn’t want to pay the retainer and talks about money a lot. A broken leg from a pedestrian hit? I don’t care if the client is a scumbag. A will contest? I don’t want the client if he is a scumbag. Probably even if he looks like he will pay, because he won’t. Virtually all my clients are word of mouth, so I have a character reference prior to ever meeting the client. I don’t talk afterwards with the referral source.
