What a tough decision. My favorite actually changed several times. But a winner must be named. In third place **Skunkdog’s** _“At the time, no one knew that the formation of the “Nunnery Gunnery” would be the turning point of the war”_ narrowly edged out **Prof. Perriwinkle** for best military/martial entry. In second place, **Running Coach’s** _“How do you solve a problem like Maria?”_ was a solid snort above every other movie/entertainment reference. And in first place in this hotly contested entry, we find **Spoons’** _“It’s a real-life tongue-twister: “Six sisters shooting sick swallows,”_ which dazzled me with both its originality and wordplay. You’re good to go, **Spoons.** ---

Well, I’ve never used the site that one came from for pictures before, so maybe it’s just not reachable by everybody’s devices. I’ll try a different photo, from a site I’ve used before, and that seemed to present no problems previously. So, scratch that last one, and try this: [![](https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2014/08/08/20/54/laundry-413688_960_720.jpg) ](https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2014/08/08/20/54/laundry-413688_960_720.jpg) [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/a-genuine-caption-contest-part-1/915731.md?page=51) [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/a-genuine-caption-contest-part-1/915731.md?page=53)
