If a marine mammal washes ashore, immediately call your local marine mammal stranding network or NOAA Fisheries at 1-800-992-2132. Do not touch or return the animal to the water, as it may be sick, injured, or disoriented. Keep people and pets at least 50 yards away, reduce noise and disturbance, and take photos from a safe distance to provide to the experts…and social media. ---
