Hi folks! Had fun at the local fair yesterday- corn dogs, llama agility course, baby goats (OMG so cute) and bunnies.
Llamas are stubborn SOBs!
Came home and crashed! Tonight off to Yom Kippur services- Kol Nidrei. It’s a beautiful, haunting service.

Good question **MOOOOOOM**. Do we have anybody up for tomorrow? Are you thinkin’ of gettin’ a pet alpaca? 😃
Lunch was a hit! We ate, we drank, we laughed. I cleaned up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher after everybody left. Plus, I had a nappy poo. I’s stuffded and relaxated now.

Sorting stuff and watching Castle, season 1 (I caught 5 of the eps on hulu, but was missing 7 of them). It’s a really cute show, if you haven’t seen it… (smartass detective genre).

I forgot to mention dessert today way a really nummy apple crisp with real whipped cream. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM… There’s some in the fridge that keeps callin’ out to me.
Also, I just had three rolls with cold ham. I’s so stuffded!

We made fries the Joel Robuchon way for dinner. You start them in _cold_ oil, just enough to cover, and by the time they’re brown they’re perfect. Somehow not greasy at all, taste double-fried, and take way less oil than regular fries.
They were delicious. I heartily recommend the method.

I shall remember that **LiLi**. Matter of fact I was contemplatin’ burgers and fries for dindin tomorrow.
**BBBobbio** I was not the dessert maker today. All I know is the only sugar in the crisp was brown sugar in the topping, which, as I understand consisted soley of brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, oatmeal and pecans. It was a combo of sweetness in the topping and of course whipped cream and tartness in the apples that was oh so goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!

Added the fries method to the blog (found a link to a discussion about it, too.).
I’ve done some photo editing and more filing and shredding. Big fun.
Guess I should find some dinner and make sure I’m ready for work tomorrow.

**BBBobbio** bein’ as I am ever so resourceful and a big ol’ pest, this is the recipe for the apple crisp we had for dessert today. I called up the maker of said crisp and asked to be emailed the recipe. She said she found it on the web a few years back and can’t remember where but she was all nice and emailed me the recipe anywho. BTW, she says it doubles easily.
APPLE-PECAN CRISP
4 c. tart apples (equal to about 6 apples), peeled, sliced and sprinkled with lemon juice
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed in cup
1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
1/2 c. rolled oats
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter, unsalted, or if preferred, butter
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Butter 8 inch square pan, or 11 x 7 x 2 inch pan. Spread apple on bottom. Blend remaining ingredients until crumbly. Spread over apples and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender. Cool slightly on wire rack. Serve warm, or at room temperature. Serve with a bit of ice cream or whip cream, or, for the purists, just plain warm and wonderful.
