Wow, what terrible news. ☹ I haven’t posted here as much as I used to and so it took a while for me to discover this disheartening news. There were never any bad or hostile postings between us. If anything, there was always a bit of healthy competition in GQ to find the definitive answer for (among other things) the volume of the Eiffel Tower. (true story) I always found him to be a gentleman and sort of the unofficial peacemaker of the board. Now if someone needs to know the medieval Magyar Croation term for ax handle sheath, who will provide the answer? 😕 Rest In Peace Q.E.D. ---

I almost met him once about I guess 6 or 7 years ago. I had a guitar amp that had a loud hum or something and I posted a thread on it to get some info. He posted in that thread (said it was a capacitor or something that I can’t remember) and so I PMed him for some DIY advice to repair it. We went back and forth a few times as I had more questions, and eventually I, still a bit insecure in my ability to fix it, kinda coyly suggested that I might be taking a ride out his way in Jersey and perhaps if he wouldn’t mind taking a quick look at it… to which he responded “sure, come on by. I’m in the process of moving so everything’s a bit of a mess though”. For some reason I can’t remember, I never did actually pursue it. But that’s my almost-met QED story. RIP man. ---

He and I used to talk via MSN Messenger every day. Over the last few months, I’d been avoiding him 'cause he talked about his cats too dang much. Now…now I feel like a walking crock of shit. I’m sitting here crying and I don’t know what to do and he’s been my friend for about five years and I didn’t even know he was dead until now. Oh God. ---

I just found out. RIP Q.E.D. I’ve got a lot of bad things happening in my life right now. I did a double take when I read the thread title. I’m just absolutely crushed by this. I didn’t even know he’d been suspended; I just assume he’d taken a break from the boards. Kind of put my problems in perspective. I’m sorry for your family, Q.E.D. and I’m going to miss you a lot. ---
