A grenade machine gun?

This particular arsenal is located about 15 miles from where I grew up. I used to be able to hear them test munitions. I can’t believe I actually applied for a job there 40 years ago. I must have been out of my mind. In fact, I was. And they don’t allow people with a history of mental illness work there.

Since I’m opposed to war and have been since about 1968, I’m glad I don’t have that on my conscience for the rest of my life.

When I looked at the photo of the granade machine gun, I realized that’s what we got in elementary school after we took the tour of the arsenal on our field trip.

Seriously, did anyone find any names associated with the accident? The first news that I heard was the one was injured, one was killed and another was missing.

Zoe:

Wow. Tough school.

Good, because it sure wouldn’t be safe to stand in front of it.

I think I’m afraid of you now, especially if your the guy who listens to his cereal.

I know for fact that a belt fed “chunker” round will chamber in an M203.

We were on guard duty and a bit toasted. ( a buddie stole a jeep and brought us some beers) We had a pile of unexploded ordinance a ways off waiting for EOD.

Well the guy I was standing guard with (we were out in the fucking middle of nowhere) decided to collect up one of the chunker rounds and send it “down range”.

You ever see that bugs bunny cartoon? the one where Elmer Fudds shotgun turns into a mushroom?

That’s what happened.

He was court martialed, never saw him after that.
