Veggie bed has been weeded and sunflower seedlings have been transplanted. And all the veggies have had a dose of MiracleGro. I’ve cleared the way for the water heater installation. I think I’m done with manual labor for the day. **FCD** and I went to Red Robin for lunch. I got the grilled chicken salad - it was HUGE!!! I think supper will be leftover ribs and whatever I decide for sides. We neglected to bring in the mail on Saturday (rain, you know) so today we got the first bill for **FCD** ’s back - something over $300 for the initial consult (we haven’t met our deductible yet.) More to come, of course. And tomorrow, he’s going to make an appointment with his knee doc. Eventually, we’ll meet the deductible, so there’s that. I should probably check to see how much it’ll be \< deep bracing breath \> 😮 ---

Afternoon all. All shopping has been completed so except for the usual bits-and-pieces Moanday stop at Publix, should be good for June. Only 2 stops needed. It’s 78F outside but still pretty cool in the house, so giving both the heat and AC the day off. Nappage is a possibility if I should lay down, so we’ll see. **quietly** , I’m going to have to dig out my copy of _Tuf Voyaging_ now that you mentioned it. A most interesting character, surprised no one has developed it into a movie (or added the character to their own movie…). **{{{Flyboy family}}}** **Bumba** , my nephew has two bloodhounds, they are friendly dogs but like you say, not small. **Seanette** , 105F is hot anywhere/anytime. Cats excel at being alarm clocks. It’s one of their primary duties, in addition to demanding food and sitting in your lap right as you need to get up and do things. 🙂 ---

I think I’m a kill-joy. I don’t like celebrating Memorial Day, though I do commemorate it. We need a separate day for celebrating the unofficial start of summer, like the Saturday preceding. I found mugs and glasses I’d forgotten we even owned. When my son moved out of the dorm, the university’s dishes, glasses, and silverware stacked outside each door would have supplied an entire cafeteria. Kids these days. Also those days, though I speak only of one sister. The rest of us didn’t eat in our rooms much. I miss dogs. Sending scritches to all yours, with extras to **Gordie** as recompense for his trauma. ---

Since my bladder was starting to think about waking me up, I got up. I put some kibble in the bowl and headed toward the bathroom. Goo chased me. ‘Dad! Dad! You’re not done yet!’ I followed her back to the bowl and stroked her back. She chowed down and purred. She doesn’t make ‘mom’ pet her to eat! ---

Felix (previous cat) was a social eater. Had to be petted before eating commenced. Allie (current cat, aka the Princess) does that occasionally. Right now, she’s hanging out under the bed. Why is unclear. Things are quiet here right now. Sleepy, but need to stay up to deal with problems like laundry. Coke Zero does not seem to suffice. ---
