# A Heat Wave is on, and I'm craving VINEGAR

I have been craving pineapple in the heat. I wonder if pickled pineapple is any good?

I’'m fine with the fruit juice bars you find next to the ice cream in the supermarket.

My big thing this year is flavored sparkling water. Never cared for the stuff until a coworker introduced me to a coconut pineapple flavored one. Now I’m hooked. Interesting, though, that the hotter it is, the less I crave the sweet flavors and go more toward the raspberry, or blueberry pomegranate, or apple…

In other words, I think Ukelele Ike is onto something with the vinegar + hot weather.

Mmm. Pepperoncinis. Cold, salty, sour & spicy. I wonder why that sounds good on a hot day?

Pepperoncini (jarred) in New York is just plain old pepperoncini. On a trip out west two years ago I found FLAVORED pepperoncini on normal supermarket shelves.

I must have gone through three jars of the garlic-dill during picnics in three weeks.

A shot of balsamic vinegar in a tall glass of ice water or club soda is refreshing on a hot day.
