**Eve** , If anyone would know, it’s you. Where did the classic movie character “the hooker with a heart of gold” come from, anyway? Was she a stock character in Thirties B movies, or does that meme come from a particular performance? ---

Usually it was only “implied” they were hookers, but some films were pretty blunt about it. Jean Harlow, Barbara Stanwyck, Joan Blondell, all excelled at the genre. Ya hadda be able to wisecrack outta the side of yer mouth. ---

I don’t know how she could have stayed there for a millisecond longer after seeing the video. I also agree: good for her for making the call, though. Why, why, why do some people like that stuff? I cannot, nor do I wish to, understand it. It’s indefensible. Stories like this make me wish I had the power to instantly vaporize people into non-existence. None of my other comments on that crime are original, so I’ll leave it at that.
