# A hypothetical question

Hey all,
Let’s say I created ten or twenty amazing, wonderful, genius, inspirational posts in a forum. Every post is above and beyond the standard post for that forum. The only problem is I have now hogged the forum with my own personal posts.
Is this a bad thing?
I DONT INTEND ON DOING THIS!!!

If you aren’t planning on doing it, then why ask the question?
If your posts genuinely add to the discussion then there is no problem. If you post to a thread merely for the sake of posting then you will be mocked and if you do it too often you’ll receive a mod smackdown. Or so I’ve heard.

I have never created four back-to-back threads in a single forum before, thanks. If you want to discuss this further, then you can spit out some more venom in my pit thread about my parents.

Venom? _More_ venom? Wow, you sure read my post in a way I didn’t intend it if you think it held any venom in it. If I decide to spit venom to you in the future, I’ll be clearer about it.

There’s no particular “rule” or “guideline” – it’s pretty much situational. A poster who posts six or seven posts in a row in the same thread, that don’t add content, is possibly trolling, and a Moderator would probably look at the situation. Six or seven posts that are responding to prior posts might be OK; six or seven posts that all say, “Come to my website and you can buy pornographic screwdrivers!” would not be.

Try having insomnia and being one of the few people in North America awake and posting some time. I’ve had the “last post” in 10 threads in a row in a forum before. Nothing wrong with that, per se.
