Yesterday a jet took off from our airport. Today another took off. Until now, I had never realized how significant such prevously mundane matters were. ---

I know what you mean. I saw one last night as I was driving home from work. I was stopped at a light, and I glanced up and there it was, in the sky. I just sat there and stared at it. A plane, flying. Man, how life has changed. ---

I understand. While we were in OKC we went out to Will Rogers Airport and watched planes take off and we weren’t the only ones out there. People were applauding. ---

I’ve been looking up a lot to see the jets coming and going from O’Hare. I find it comforting to see them, frankly. The more I see of them coming and going uneventfully, the easier it will be for me to take that first flight in a couple of weeks. ---

I live on the prarie–“flyover country”–and it’s amazing how _spooky_ that empty sky was. Con trails or sunlight glinting off distant jets were just part of the sky. A bunch bunch of folks were congregated outside on Friday, soaking up sunshine and reflecting, when we saw the first airplane take off. Somebody gasped, “LOOK! It’s a plane!”, we all stood up, watched–then applauded and cried. It was a phoenix. Veb ---

I live near the airport. It was really weird not hearing the planes go over all day. I have always complained about the noise. I’ll never complain again.
