I’m not convinced that reinstating the draft would be political suicide. It would be a nasty fight, to be sure, and I would question the wisdom of doing it without a national consensus that it is really needed, but if Bush wants to put his political capital behind it, I think that a draft would be easier to pass than Social Security rollbacks. **Reeder** , I don’t know anything about the PNAC either. Please, do tell. ---

Which is more politically expedient. Running what troops you have into the ground or obtaining new ones? That IMHO is the arguement they will use. How do you vote for running your troops into the ground? ---
