A license to drink? (alcohol)

There should be a McDonald’s licence too and you lose it when you go over a certain weight

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario issues a “BYID” card that is kind of like a “drinking license.” You don’t need one to drink, of course, but it is handy to have if you don’t feel like getting a driving license but still need some form of official ID to buy booze.

I think that its a really good idea.

If you’re an alcoholic, have drink related convictions/mental health/physical health problems, then temptation is no longer in your way.

Another thing is, is that it gives people a “Let out”.
When I was a young man (Even younger then I am now I mean), there was no breathyliser.

Blokes who knew that they weren’t able to drive even reasonably competently, because they were drunk were badgered by their drunk mates to drive them home, because if they didn’t they weren’t real men,or were shit drivers whatever.

Come the Breathelyser, it was "Of COURSE I can drive"but I won’t because I’ll lose my licence.

Same thing with a drink licence.

Oh I love drinking too much to be forced to stop because I drank so much I acted like a twat/started a fight/vandalised property/etc.

Also it gives their peers the moral presure to say “pack it in or you’ll lose your D.L. unless of course you’re a wimp who WANTS to lose it.”
