I can’t remember if I’ve had alligator, but if I did, it was part of a stew like dish with lots of other flavors, so I won’t count it. And I’ve had Sea Urchin _Roe_, but that’s cheating. 'Bout the only thing I wouldn’t try (if you were paying for it) is fugu. Just outside my comfort zone, breathing wise. 1. Abalone. 2\*\*. Absinthe\*\*. On a Prague Dopefest. A Doper showed us how to drink it, including the ritual with the soaked sugar cube that you set on fire. 2. Alligator. 3. Baba Ghanoush. No, but I want to because it comes up in novels all the time and I hate not getting the reference. 4. Bagel and Lox 5. **Baklava**. Lots of Arabic enthic stores in my neighbourhood and they all carry a wide selection. It’s pastry drenched in sugary hony-like syrup. Much too sweet for my taste. 6. **Barbecue Ribs**. The have them at Ikea nowadays. Greasy fingers and lots of bones on your plate afterwards! 7. Bellini 8. Bird’s Nest Soup. Not the real kind, no. 9. Biscuits and Gravy 11.\*\* Black Pudding.\*\* That’s blood sausage, right? It is kind of a local speciality. I eat it as a quick snack/lunch, baked with pieces of apple, on bread. 12.\*\* Black Truffle.\*\* Only oil or sauce scented with it. It took me a while to understand what it was supposed to smell and taste like. I kept expecting something heavenly, but it smells like someone left the gas stove open. **13. Borscht.** I make this all the time. It’s a on-the-table-in-5 minutes dish, if they sell cans of boiled beet roots in your supermarket. **14. Calamari**. Those deepfried rings? Yum. A snack sold by many restaurants here. 10. Carp **16. Caviar.** Yes, in Prague. Ikea sells a cheaper kind of fish roe. and also a vegetarian caviar surrogate made out of seaweed, that is awesome. **17. Cheese Fondue**. Easy nice dish, sold in pre-made packages you only put in the microwaven. We eat it once a month. 11. Chicken and Waffles (together, at the same time) Wait, what? **19. Chicken Tikka Masala**. In all Indian restaurants, no? 12. Chile Relleno 13. Chitlins 14. Churros. Deep fried sweet dough strands. Not in the Netherlands, but there are churros stands in Belgium. Goulash**. Yes, a very ordinary, even stodgy dish here. 30. Gumbo 31. Haggis **49. Head Cheese.** Brain perserve. A local speciality here. Nice, a bit sour. 32. Heirloom Tomatoes. My supermarket sells about nine different races of fresh tomatoes. **51. Honeycomb** , Yes, sold in a jar of honey. Spread a bit of honeycomb with the honey on buttered hot toast. Mmmmmm… 33. Sure, my neighbour had a vegetable plot and eating zucchini flowers was the only way to prevent getting overrun with zuchinis. Man those grow\* fast\*. I like foods and I like shopping for exotic foods in ethnic stores.
