In all the other threads I have seen you contribute in, **Wildfire** , you make one or two generalizations, provide redundant or repetitive comments, and contribute very little to the actual debate. You seem to want other people’s opinions only if they allign with your own scantily-supported ones. Personally, I’d prefer someone who’s arrogant but also articulate about their positions (even when I strongly disagree with them), over someone who prickles at such “arrogance” but has very little to add themselves. ---

Actually, in all seriousness, this has come up before. Part of what people perceive (sorry about the spitting) as arrogance is actually sarcasm, or a certain mocking tone, which people have picked up by reading way too many of Cecil’s columns, in which he is the master of derisive mocking of people with less than cosmically-important questions. So, not so arrogant as you might at first expect. What say you?
