According to my brother who lives in Germany, it makes me a smartass. I’m surprised that the dictionaries Google lists (on the first page anyway) don’t include it in their definition. One of them does list Klugscheißer as a translation of the [Am.][vulg.] wise ass. (I know 'cause I copied it from there to get the ß) Be slightly cautious in using this word IRL. It’s also listed as [vulg.] ---
