Letting all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out, by virtue of repeated exposure, so everyone knows exactly what kind of person we’re dealing with, that’s appropriate (and within my power, which banning isn’t). Oh, I can see definitely someoneone wanting to be efficient and simply accessing one’s old posts to post it again. (I’ve posted that way myself.) Fellow members who know where (s)he is should be either disclosing the last known location or doing the right thing and reporting it to relevant law enforcement or prosecutor. That said, what is described in the story is debatable in terms of criminality. It apparently \*was \*misdescribed (as a black and white matter of bragging about attempted rape and choosing not to rape). ---

What if a man stepped into an elevator with a much larger man, who once the doors close, pins him, face first up against the wall and sexually fondles him until the doors open and the bigger man runs off. What are the chances the victim comes forward and tells someone? What say gentlemen? Would you come forward if you were sexually assaulted by a gay man in an elevator? You have not been beaten, bloodied or penetrated, there is no evidence, it’s your word against his. Do you tell anyone? The police? ---

andros, I’m not sure whether you get a stiffy on the heels of the gratuitous fluff snark, but if so, whatever helps. 🙂 I’m not sure what’s snarkworthy about observing the debatability (as in viability) of criminal acts. (In the scenario presented, the fact that the girl may well not have recognized (or, if she did, chose to remain silent) that she was being physically touched by someone other than her boyfriend (whose touch was consentual, apparently) doesn’t make it less criminal. The person doing the touching knew or had reason to know the person being touched didn’t know someone other than the boyfriend was doing it, and presumably knew or believed (it matters not which) that she’d not be receptive to the “joke” if she learned she was being physically assaulted by another person. (“Assault” being universally defined as unwanted touching, and not necessarily hitting or slapping, etc. and differentiated as needed from “battery”.) ---

In the case of this thread, we are ignoring **kstarnes** to his face, which is also a form of mockery, and therefore awesome. In my nearly 8 years on this board I only ever pitted a fellow board member once in my life (IIRC.) He was a horrible racist, the sort of person who will talk about _The Bell Curve_ with a straight face, and he kept hijacking Great Debates with his stupid racist bullshit. I spent the entire thread mocking him. He kept trying to get me to take his arguments seriously and I just kept making fun of him. It was fantastic. He even got banned at the end, and it became a 74 page Omnibus Thread devoted exclusively to the mocking of racists. Truly one of the most wonderful things that ever happened to me here. I think **Shagnasty** ’s story is plausible if the lady was intoxicated. His post doesn’t come off as a brag to me, and he explicitly said he would _not_ have had sex with her even if she weren’t on her period, but it’s definitely a pretty sleazy thing to do, and it’s weird to share such a story without an unequivocal acknowledgment that it was a pretty sleazy thing to do. ‘‘It’s not as bad as it sounds, guys’’ is not really the best way to preface that kind of story. ---

Thanks for clarifying. 🙂 “Sometimes it’s more satisfying to mock ridiculous ideas than ignore them.” I’m not sure how the coleslaw recipe-fest is doing either, but halfheartedly accept that perhaps it’s a protocol you all are comfortable with (whether or not fees kstarnes needs/desires directly is deemed immaterial). I’m glad that Shagnasty’s supposed brag about attempted rape was ultimately revealed as a misrepresentation of what (s)he’d done. There’s nothing in it to identify as braggadocio, within the context of the post (I didn’t read threads from which it came). I had no abiding interest in another new project (dealing with law enforcement or prosecutor should his/her location have been revealed). Irrefutably sleaze-bag behavior. Unfortunately, what some people consider a joke involves sleaze or douchebaggery. Men particularly are fond of it; lord knows, pretty much all life and activities revolve directly or indirectly around their dicks. The world’d be a far different place if they worked on brain and intelligence development a fraction as much as they do other nonsense. (This is not to say women aren’t just as bad, but they are bad in different ways.) Cheers. ---

Gonna have to disagree on the plausible part. The only way it’s plausible if he and his buddy were virtually identical twins and she was plastered to point of oblivion. 'Same build and they were similarly dresses, doesn’t cut it. Even in a very dark room, your eyes will adjust to the point where you could make out facial features after _20 minutes_. And it wasn’t so dark that two guys couldn’t switch places from the bed to the closet without running into each other. And if it was quiet enough for Shag to hear his cue, then it was quiet enough for her to hear him come of the closet. People are not nearly as quiet as they think they are. Also ignoring that people smell different, taste different. etc… ---

I think \*in the (very) dark \* (important detail) anything is plausible, and it isn’t as though the rational mind is going to immediately think anything of it unless prompted by something such as Shagnasty and his friend having a radically different smell or taste (as you suggest) or, say, kissing style. One doesn’t need to be terribly drunk to fail to notice something to the point where it overrides the subconscious (possible) recognition that a different person is on you. It may well be that she knew what was happening but decided to say nothing and let it play out. I should think it’s possible, in the very dark, for one to fail to see much more than shapes, etc., and that’s enough to keep from banging into someone. ---
